I am currently studying print journalism at the UO School of Journalism and Communication. Although I am always first and foremost a writer, I am passionate about storytelling in all its forms and have learned the skills to be a decent photographer and filmmaker when my stories require it.
I am passionate about arts and culture writing, profiles of community members and nonprofits engaged in meaningful work, feminist activism, and more. I have taken coursework in reporting, feature-writing, media theory, and video-making.
I am also a staff writer for Ethos Magazine, for which I have published seven pieces since I joined staff in summer 2016. In fall of 2017, I also began editing the magazine's Focus section, which consists of in-depth pieces.
Check out my work on...
Alexi Pappas, a Eugene-based Olympic runner and indie filmmaker
Left Hand of Darkness, a UO adaptation of the Ursula K. Le Guin novel for the stage (to be published in 2018)
Springfield Women Veterans Memorial, one of only a handful in the nation (to be published in 2018)
I edited pieces on an array of topics, from the life of a millennial sugar baby to the ambition that sends so many Chinese and Taiwanese students to study in the U.S. each year.
I also wrote some book reviews for the student-run multimedia platform Booklandia.
Check out my review of Jeff Vandermeer's cli-fi novel Annihilation. My review of Ayelet Waldman's memoir about microdosing on LSD, A Really Good Day, is forthcoming.
